What are these dolls?
Blythe
Blythe was originally produced by Kenner in the US in 1972, but was not well received. She was only produced for one year before being discontinued. Takara, a toy company in Japan, picked up the license in 2001 and began manufaturing new Blythe dolls. The original Kenner Blythes are highly sought after by collectors and the Takara Blythes are gaining popularity world wide. Blythe has a pull string in the back of her head, which, when pulled, changes her eyes to one of four colors.
Pullips
Pullips are produced by Jun Planning, a Korean toy company. They debuted in 2003 and have a rapidly growing fan base. They have well articulated bodies, a lever in the back of their heads which moves their eyes from side to side and buttons to close their eyelids.
Asian Ball Joint Dolls/ Super Dollfies
This is an entire group of dolls, produced by several Japanese and Korean companies. Super Dollfies from Volks were the first, and it has become convention to refer to any doll in this group as a Super Dollfie. These are large dolls made of heavy resin which are strung with elastic and utilize ball joints for an incredible range of articualtion. They are made to be customized, often coming unpainted and unfinished and their eyes and wigs are easily changed. They vary in size, but the largest are about 60cm tall and there are an increasing number of other size groups.

How do I buy one of your dolls?
We do not retail these dolls nor are any of our dolls for sale!
Where do I get my own?
None of these dolls are sold in retail stores outside of Asia at the moment, but that is quickly changing. Ebay is very useful, as are shopping services. Some companies have online shops which accept international orders and there are several online doll shops which are authorized dealers for the manufacturers.

Items in your store are marked a SOLD OUT. What does that mean? When will you restock?
If an item is sold out, unfortunately it means it is sold out. Most often, we keep items in stock until we run out of the fabric/trims we used to make them, so when they are sold out, we are unable to produce more. In some instances, items are one offs or we have simply tired of making them. We almost never reproduce old items, but we often do make updated versions. Registering on the site and signing up for our newsletter is the best way to keep up with new stock.

Which dolls do your clothes fit?
Blythe
All of the clothing we make for Blythe will fit both the Licca and the EBL/SBL bodies. We tend to use the EBL/SBL body to model, so if you have a particular concern, please e-mail me with the type of doll you are buying for. Unsure? The Licca bodies have the arms and legs which bend.
Pullips
Some of the clothing we make for Pullips will fit either the first or second body type, and we try to make them as adjustable as possible to do so. Some of the more fitted pieces wont fit both bodies, so it is recommended that you send a message along with your order indicating which body you are buying for. I reccommend ordering clothing for the third body type from the Blythe section. Unsure? The first bodies have visible screws, the second have soft torsos.
Ball Joint Dolls
The body for which each piece was designed is indicated at the bottom of the item description in the boutique. I can only guarantee fit on dolls which I have access to. We try and design the pieces with a bit of adjustability to fit a wider range of dolls. If you are unsure whether our pieces will fit your dolls, please e-mail me with the type of doll you are dressing before you order and we can discuss fit.

What about other dolls?
Again, I can only guarantee fit on dolls I have access to. The new bodied Pullips are very similar in size to standard Barbies and Takaras Jenny and Blythes are very close to vintage Skipper and Takaras Licca. If you are hoping an item will fit a doll other than the one it is listed for, please e-mail me and Ill try to find out.

How long does it take to receive my items? Are they made to order?
For the most part, items are made to order, though we limit the orders we take based on materials. Please allow an average of 2-4 week for your order to be filled, but keep in mind that we make all of our items by hand and we sometimes receive a lot of orders in a short amount of time, and well, were human. We will do our best to keep you updated and keep an eye on our LJ for updates. You will receive an email confirmation on the day your order ships. We do appreciate your patience!

Do you take sewing commissions?
Unfortunately, we no longer accept sewing commissions.
Are your items hand sewn?
Some things are, though most often they are machine sewn. We finish all of our hems and do everything possible to make quality clothes that will last.

Will your dark clothes stain my doll?
We pre-wash and occasionally vinegar rinse our dark fabrics to prevent them from staining dolls, but please be aware that it is not advised to leave any dark clothing on dolls for a prolonged period of time. Be especially careful with the torsos of the new Pullip bodies, Blythe legs and Dollfie Dream dolls!!

How exactly do esthetics commissions work?
First of all, you have to contact us! Send us an email telling us what you're interested in having done and what type of doll you have. We'll respond with our availablilty and let you know exactly when we'll be able to take your doll. (Please note! Sometimes our wait list is a few months long!)
Next, when we have agreed on a date, you will send us a $5 deposit to reserve your spot.
When it's time to ship your doll to us, we ask that you pack with lots of time and care, remembering that we will be shipping your doll back to you using the exact same packing materials you send us. We also ask that you always properly insure your doll and notify us of the exact date you ship. The amount you spend to ship your doll to us will determine the amount we charge you to ship it back.
Once your doll is with us, we will do all of the agreed work. For body blushing, we will send you pictures before the final coat of MSC. For faceups, we will typically send you one or two sets of in-progress pictures.
Once you view these pictures and approve everything, we will apply the final coats of MSC. (If there is something that you were unhappy with, this is the time when we would make changes.)
You will receive one last set of pictures of the finalized work and our invoice for the esthetics work and return shipping, minus your $5 deposit.
Once the invoice is paid in full, we will ship your doll back to you. Turnaround time from the date we receive the doll to the date we send your invoice is typically no more than 2 weeks. (Please note! This is obviously dependant on how much work we are doing for you and is also influenced by the weather!)

I have more than one doll/head I'd like painted. May I send them both?
Yes! You will only need one $5 deposit for all of the dolls you send, and again, we ask that you pack them very carefully and insure them for their full worth. It will obviously take a bit longer to get multiples dolls photographed, done and back to you.
